Pinocchio's Revenge (1996) -  Lawyer and single mother Jennifer Garrick (Rosalind Allen) has been exhaustively defending an alleged child killer who is slated for execution. When she unwittingly carries home a Pinocchio puppet that had been buried with her client's dead son, her daughter, Zoe (Brittany Alyse Smith), takes it as a gift. Soon the young girl begins talking to her new wooden friend, and strange, violent events follow, with Zoe blaming Pinocchio for the unfortunate incidents.

Puppet Master II (1991) - The It third film in the Puppet Master franchise, a prequel to 1989's Puppet Master and 1991's Puppet Master II, stars Guy Rolfe as a puppeteer whose ability to animate lifeless material attracts the attention of the Nazis, whose members are played by Richard Lynch, Ian Abercrombie and Walter Gotell.

Puppet Master IV (1993) -  A young scientist and his friends are attacked by demons. The puppets try to protect the young scientist and his friends from the demons. Their master Sutekh rules the demons in the underworld. The servants of Sutekh are called Totems and are used to kill those who have the secret animation that is used to give the puppets life. A team of researchers come close to discovering Sutekh's secret, which will jeopardize his organization. Sutekh knows he is at risk and must stay in control of the situation if he is going to continue on with the plots and schemes he has devised.

Puppet Master Legacy (2004) -  The eighth film in the Puppet Master franchise is the sequel to Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter.  An elderly Peter Hertz and Kate Orsini, who is a mercenary hired to confront Hertz for information about the magic puppeteer, Andre Toulon, used to animate his puppets.

Love Object (2003) -  Kenneth is an experienced technical writer with a very creative mind. Due to his social awkwardness, and loneliness Kenneth orders a realistic sex-doll. He names his sex-doll "Nikki", and creates an unusual relationship to his sex-doll Nikki, imagining her as a real person of which he talks and argues with. As the film goes on, Kenneth becomes trapped in the delusion that his sex-doll Nikki is stalking him, and believes that she has become jealous of Kenneth's interest in Lisa, a real woman whom Kenneth works with.

Retro Puppet Master (1999) -  Retro Puppet Master is the seventh film in the long-running Puppet Master franchise. This film came out in 1999 and deals with the same subject matter as the other Puppet Master films. Each film has a group of puppets that somehow became alive and animated. Unfortunately, they are evil and spend most of the films killing the humans.

Jane & Missy, The Dolly Murderer

Following the unexplained and quite suspicious deaths of Jane Bewalski's friends she often played with in her New York apartment, local law enforcement interviewed little Jane.  According to their reports, little Miss Jane Bewalski had gone insane and blamed her doll, Missy for the deaths, blamed her dolly for outright murders.  She reportedly flung her doll out the window of her fifth floor apartment, while shouting, “Bad dolly! Naughty dolly!”. Subsequently, little Miss Jane Bewalski was taken to Bloomingdale Asylum to be treated for "hysteria". There she remained until her death of old age in 1968.  She never claimed anything other than Missy having full culpability of her playmates' murders.  We know exactly what happened to Little Jane, but what became of her dolly, Missy, we still don't know! The Bloomingdale Insane Asylum was a private hospital for the care of the mentally ill founded by New York Hospital. It occupied the land in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan where Columbia University is now located.  The road leading from the thriving city of New York in lower Manhattan to the asylum was called Bloomingdale Road in the nineteenth century, and is now called Broadway. The grounds of the asylum were elegantly laid out with walks and gardens. Farming and gardening were considered therapeutic, so there was a working farm with orchards, vegetable gardens, barns and pasture land.

In the 1880s, with the city expanding northward, the trustees of the New York Hospital began to sell parts of the Asylum's land to various institutions, including an orphan's asylum on the campus of what is now the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The trustees of Columbia College, now Columbia University, bought the bulk of the Bloomingdale Asylum property in 1892 and began planning the construction of a new campus.  Some of the property was also purchased by The Juilliard School where they then built their campus (which is now Manhattan School of Music). The Bloomingdale Asylum moved to a new campus in White Plains, New York.  It became known as the "Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic", and is now "New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester". The historical records of the Bloomingdale Asylum are housed in the Medical Center Archives of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. The university occupied several buildings forming the old asylum in the early years. The last building erected on the Bloomingdale Asylum's Morningside Heights campus was the Macy Villa, a gabled, brick building with white trim, which was designed by architect Ralph Townsend to resemble a private home for the comfort of wealthy gentlemen afflicted with mental illnesses, and donated by William H. Macy in 1885. It is the only building from the old asylum that survives.  It has had a number of uses over the years, but is now known as Buell Hall and houses La Maison Française.
